RAE Antwerp introduces it newest collection ‘Modern Retro’. Inspired by the nomadic lifestyle influenced by pop culture, travel and history, the collection has a lot of personality. A feeling of the past, present and future, with a variety of textures, colours and vivid prints that represent the libertarian ethos of RAE. The coats and jackets are oversized with a sixties twist; collars got a pointier, the dresses got shorter or have a longer cut to them with a bohemian look, and the range of knitwear is chunky and available in retro colours of the 60’s and 70’s.
The seasonal prints carry names as Robot, Psychedelic, Retro, Leaves, Flower and Sunburst with a 60’s and 70’s edge and they are available in a vegan cupro viscose. The colour palette is dense and earthy; tones of chocolate, deep purple, ivory, khaki, orange and salmon. Fuchsia, bright orange and red in corduroy pants and dresses are also a nice new feature and match the Modern Retro theme.
A new silhouette this season, is the Laurianne. A twist on the bestseller Megan (a cashmere sleeveless knit), the Laurianne is also made of 100% cashmere with detailed, long sleeves. Next up in the novelties is the Ursula, a chunky turtleneck knit in cashmere – a closet must-have. Also new to the range is, Vida – an oversized cupro jumpsuit that can be dressed up or down.
The designer’s favorite RAE look of the season is the Fiona, an oversized pant with the matching Lisl vest. Both available in champagne, navy or black.
